Head Coach

Kristy Wilson

Kristy started as a gymnast with this club under Barb Bishop in the 1980’s and went on to be a National level gymnast. She coached with the club from 2000 to 2006 and after a break for school, travel, and work returned to the club in 2015. Today, she is the Head Coach working with all the Coaches on planning and delivering programs and helping the Board with projects. She is nationally certified NCCP Level 3 Coach and National 2 Level Judge. She has taken athletes to BC Winter Games, International invitationals, Westerns, Nationals in both the group and solo event. 

Western & National Team Coach

Anais Tanyer

Anais competed as a National level gymnast for eight years, taking part in the High Performance pool for several years, winning many awards in national and international competitions including winning the Turkish Championships in 2006 in Team event. She is a certified National Coaches Certification Program Level 3 Coach and a National Level Judge. She has been coaching for 14 years and judging for 12 years. She has taken athletes to international invitationals, BC Winter Games, BC Provincials, Westerns, Nationals, and Elite Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree and a post degree diploma in Business-HR. She works as an HR Professional at Government of BC outside of gymnastics.

Provincial Team Coach

Ada Sungar

Ada joined West Coast in 2021 and is currently studying Computer Science at the University of Victoria. In Turkey she was a Rhythmic Gymnast for 5 years competing at the Provincial and National level until her retirement in 2011. Ada really enjoys working with young gymnasts and helping them to develop into confident and motivated athletes. Ada is Level 2 trained in the the National Coaches Certification Program and she is also a certified judge. She hopes to keep our gymnasts' enthusiasm for the sport and is very excited to share her love for Rhythmic Gymnastics! 

Provincial Team Coach

Julianna Loukko

Julianna is a long-time member of our club, a retired provincial level gymnast and a committed Gymnaestrada team member. She is currently coaching both recreational classes, provincial level groups and Future stars pre-competitive classes. She is studying to become a school teacher and loves kids! She consistently creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all of our gymnasts. Julianna is Level 2 Trained in the National Coaches Certification Program.

Adriana Novikova

Adriana’s passion for rhythmic gymnastics began at a young age and grew as she trained and competed with Planet Rhythmics in Vancouver, ultimately achieving the level of Western gymnast before retiring from competition. She now coaches the Rising Stars team and also supports coaches across various levels and age groups. Adriana is dedicated to sharing her knowledge, experience, and love of the sport with the next generation of gymnasts.

Dehlia Flint

Dehlia is a retired competitive gymnast who has trained and competed for many years with our club, she has performed with group, solo and also with our World Gymnaestrada team. She is a supportive and kind coach, helping gymnasts to build their RG foundations and get ready to move up to the next level.

Charlotte Phipps

Charlotte has been training with the club since the age of 6, competing in the provincial and western streams before advancing to the national level for the past two years. She has also been dancing since she could walk, which adds artistry and expression to her gymnastics.  As a coach, Charlotte enjoys working with  gymnasts, sharing her love of rhythmics and helping them grow in confidence and skill.

Clara Davison

Clara has been a gymnast and dedicated team member of WCRG for many years. She has competed in solo and group at Provincial and Western levels, and also performed with our World Gymnaestrada team. Clara is an enthusiastic and patient coach who loves to be with kids, and is National Coaching Certification Program Foundations trained.

Recreational Coach

Amelie Kelley

Amelie has been a vibrant part of the WCRG community for many years, first as an athlete and now as a valued coach. During her time as a gymnast, she competed in both group and individual routines at the Provincial and Western levels, and was a proud member of our World Gymnaestrada team. While she has since stepped away from training, Amelie brings a creative and thoughtful approach to coaching. Her warm presence and ability to connect with young athletes make her a natural mentor. She is  is National Coaching Certification Program Foundations trained. 

Ballet Instructor

Kathleen Holmes

Kathleen is a seasoned ballet teacher with over 40 years of experience, having taught at schools, intensives, and companies across the U.S. and Canada. Known for her versatile style and sense of humor, she has coached dancers, gymnasts, and ice-skaters of all levels, making hard work both effective and enjoyable.

Her students have gone on to become accomplished professionals in dance and beyond, crediting her with instilling discipline, passion, and personal growth. Kathleen’s impact extends well past the studio.

Her repertoire includes classical variations from Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and more modern works like Laurencia and Firebird. She learned many of these ballets through a rich lineage passed down from her mentors, Anna-Marie and David Holmes, who trained under Kirov legends connected directly to Petipa through the Vaganova tradition.
